Garth Webb,
gun position officer, says he was too busy behind his tank-mounted artillery to be afraid.

Bernie Sardo,
an army cook, was on the bloody beaches making sure his officers were fed.

Alexander Hunter,
pilot, logged three consecutive days of patrols over Juno Beach in his Spitfire fighter.

Wally Ozouf,
provost corps, was waiting when the ships returned to England with the dead and wounded.
